Why the Rainbow ? Why the Lotus ?
Rainbow Lotus was created from something I was searching for and couldn't find. The intention of Rainbow Lotus is to create a space for connection, honesty, creativity & emotional freedom. Connecting with others can be healing. In a society that focusses on extremes, it is my personal belief that small, simple pivots can lead to more peace. Thich Nhat Hanh said “If a lotus is to grow, it needs to be rooted in the mud. Compassion is born from understanding suffering.”
“No mud, no lotus.”
A lotus looks beautiful, but we don’t see the mud it has grown from. As humans we often display the “lotus” and hide the “mud”. A rainbow lotus is a specific type of lotus flower that only needs a few hours of sunlight to bloom. If we gave ourselves just a little more compassion, could we bloom?

I started Rainbow Lotus to provide a safe and affirming space where people can come to discuss a spectrum of topics, including parenting, aging, relationships, Rainbow Bridge Grief, Rainbow Parenting, and many other topics. I can meet you one on one or within a group. This is a space for grief tending as well as joy sharing. All are welcome at Rainbow Lotus. A place for belonging.

Carla DrakeUnderkoffler, M.Ed.,EOLD Hi ! My name is Carla and I love goats, snow, 3 pronged forks, psychology and dark chocolate. My background in School Psychology has lead me on a journey to provide something less diagnostic and more connective. I want to create a space where we can show our mud/grief as well as our lotus/joy. My educational background is in Education and Art with a Masters Degree in School Psychology. I've achieved additional certification work in Positive Psychology, Art Therapy, Rainbow Parenting, and I recently became a Certified Campanion Animal End of Life Doula. I am dedicated to creating a space for authentic connection and sharing.
End of Life Companion Animal Doula Having a rescue farm, I have come to learn that each animal has it's own special story and with that comes their own unique end of life. I have honored each animal with end of life care based on what they needed. Each loss has been unique because each animal is unique. When my Soul Animal, Logan, passed away, it was a heartache like I have never experienced. To honor his life and the lives of all animals and those who love them, I became a Certified End of Life Companion Animal Doula. You are not alone in your grief. Your feelings are very valid. Love is love and loss is loss. My Doula work is concentrated in the area of grief after loss.
One to one sessions One on ones are a great way to establish a connection, talk about feelings, goals, venting, grief tending, joy sharing....one session or endless sessions. The choice is up to you.
